In preparation for transition, I did my reading of blogs and posts and became quickly overwhelmed. I decided that the infinite number of choices was too much for me to process so I made a decision as I started--- choose 3 or 4 items as your "additional" and stick with those for now. Like with Medifast having limited options during the weight loss phase, I know me well enough to know that the same philosophy will need to be true as I move forward in this transition process. Week one went well.
New veggies added this last week: Corn, carrots, artichokes, sweet potato (once only--- will be a treat).
I am down 1 lb after week one which is great. I had hoped that I would continue down a few more before transition was over ;-)
Today begins the fruit options for me: cantaloupe, grapes, pineapple, apples. That's it. Over time I may expand it but those are what I crave and desire most right now so that is what I will eat! I have always thought of cantaloupe as a boring fruit but let me tell you... how sweet it is after 15 months without!!
I have measured and weighed out individual servings to assist with my grab and go life style and onward I go...

One week into transition and holding steady at 133 (goal). I thought I'd update with side by side before/afters. I think they speak for themselves... still continue to be amazed at this program and the number of lives it has changed.
You can do this!!!

After reaching goal in exactly 1 year and then continuing 12 lbs below my original goal weight of 145, I am now at 133lbs and have decided to transition. I feel like I have a good weight buffer in the healthy category (anything under 140) and I am ready. Recent health issues unrelated to weight have forced me to consider minimizing the potential for lightheaded feelings associated with hunger or lower blood sugar. I need to ensure that if I am lightheaded I KNOW what that means... I have read through some of the transition boards on the subject and it was enough to give anyone anxiety! lol... so, I have decided to do the following:
1- put my scale away 2- print the quick start guide and follow as written 3- make smart choices and not stress (I have to minimize that)... 4- continue with transition at a pace that feels right 5- LIVE
MF has helped me lose more than 120 lbs and I am healthier than I have ever been in my adult life. Now I have to focus attention on my new challenges using the tools MF has given me. I know I will be successful in this next phase of the program. I know I will continue to eat MF food as my snacks because truthfully, I like the food! lol...
I am so excited to start this new phase. Follow it as written and I will be eating a normal balanced diet in no time. Wish me luck!!!

Well, I managed to survive a 3 day stay in the hospital, nearly 100% OP, after a fainting spell and lasting loss of consciousness. After an extensive work up, we have concluded that MF has truly impacted my health for the better. My heart is healthy, my labs are perfect, my blood sugars are great. The MD said that that was all "boring" hehe. I was able to use my 5 MF meals a day in the hospital and worked nearly a full L&G into the day by picking and choosing foods served during my lunch and dinner each day. I lost 2 lbs to boot!
The down side is I now have a life altering diagnosis and my drivers license has been pulled for the time being. That is a pain, but manageable and sure beats the neuro-vascular surgery we thought I was facing so I will take it! I do have to say, I find it very entertaining that I managed to lose 120+ lbs and THEN find myself in a hospital bed. I am so thankful that this new diagnosis is the only health concern I have. I can't even imagine it being compounded with other issues such as high BP, diabetes or any other.
MF has truly saved my life. This program works. For those of you that are new, have faith in the process, know that there are always ways to work the plan into your situation (whether it be in the hospital, traveling or other). For those veterans like me, know that our lives have been spared the impact of debilitating health conditions and have left room for us to have the energy to cope with what ever is thrown our way.

I love Easter. I love Easter candy. I love everything about the seemingly infinite options when it comes to those sweet and sour delightful treats. Unfortunately, they will not be part of my life as we move forward. I am ok with that. I would rather look like I do than have an immediately sugar high followed by the crash of BS, fatigue and inevitable guilt for having eaten it. That all being said, I sooooooo miss the Cadbury creme eggs. Well, that and jelly beans. The jelly beans would be next to impossible to duplicate in MF land, but the creme eggs? WELL, thanks to CodyJo --- I had one today!! Yum, yum, yum, yum... wickedly good. Rich and decedent good.

My husband (and son) bought me a road bike for my 50 lb reward 7 months ago. I have a family full of competitive cyclists and I am spending more and more time on a bike myself. I have often thought how fun it would be to be able to wear a MF jersey. Years ago, I saw a photo of a professional cyclist team sponsored by Medifast among other brands and I thought it would be so cool to have one of those jerseys some day. It's not exactly the kind of thing you just go down to the store to buy or can even find online... trust me, I've tried. But leave it to my sneaky husband to find one! He surprised me with it today!!! It was only worn once and put on eBay-
I will now be able to ride around town proudly with the jersey to point to when people ask about how I have lost all this weight (115+ lbs to date)! SOOOOOO Excited!!! See pic attached. IT actually says MEDIFAST down both sides--- see MyPage for more pics!
THANK YOU HUSBAND!!!! xoxoxo

I recently stumbled upon an old recipe post for "lemon meringue pie" that looked interesting so I decided to take the plunge. The original called for vanilla pudding and SF lemon jello gelatin, but the store was out so... I got creative and did a banana creme with plain knox gelatin added. It is FABULOUS!!! Lemon meringue is my favorite so I am now on a hunt for the SF jello I purchased recently but the store no longer carries. I will definitely do this one again! Here's the link to the discussion and see my pic below.
This definitely helped with the boredom of more than a year of regular (relatively) undoctored MF food. A refreshing change as we head into Spring. Goal met... new goal set... 1/2 of me!!!
Here we go, with pie in tow!

So, I get my scale back tomorrow (yes, DH had taken it away for another month) to see if I have reached the mid 130s, 10 lbs below my original goal. If I do, I am considering continuing downward because...
Why is it when I was fat I didn't see fat?
And now that I'm not fat, I see every little bit of fat I have left to lose???
I had thought MF crazy when they recommended 125-129 lbs for me as a goal. Now I'm thinking it really is possible and pretty darn appropriate! Size 8s are comfortable and could be 6s in some instance. Now THAT is crazy talk!!!
Stay tuned!

OMG... I needed to start doing some strength training and my sister recommended Barre3 as she has been doing it for years and is even talking about opening up her own studio franchise. I had to be supportive right? so... I bought the DVD and ball a few weeks ago. So far, I have only been able to do the ground work, but my husband decided to make it a family affair, bought 2 more balls, and he and I and our 13 year old cyclist son all did the 45 minute workout. Let me just say... ughhhhhhhh---- kicked my behind, literally! It's amazing how such small movements can make such a large impact. I can't lift my arms, my stomach is sore and I have to assist myself sitting down, standing up and walking up/down the stairs. I will definitely be taking a few days break before attempting anything else that's for sure. But I am proud of myself for making it through the entire workout. Progress... next workout? hoola hooping!!!
Happy Sunday. It was 70 degrees and sunny here in Northern CA... sending some warm weather your way. ;-)

I'm still on cloud 9 having reached goal yesterday, knowing for sure once DH gave the scale back for me to check. Now, 145 is just at healthy weight for me and I have planned to go another 10 lbs all along. Since I am continuing business as usual for awhile, DH took the scale away from me again. He said I obviously know what I am doing on the program and seem to have found a healthy balance between calories, 5&1/4&2 and exercise that works for me so keep on doing what I've been doing and he will give the scale back another month from now. I can live with that... I feel much more relieved and less pressured (if that makes sense) to go without the scale at this point since any extra I lose is just bonus.
Here's to another month of OP work and hoping for success. I am starting Barre3 tomorrow at home. My sister is looking into opening her own franchise studio and I will be here before and after. Toning is definitely what I need at this point!! Wish me luck.

Today is my 1 year Mediversary. My husband took my scale away from me 5 weeks ago after a bit of a plateau meltdown and gave it back to me this morning... drum roll....
GOAL!!!!! ...and then some ;-) 110.4 lbs lost-- see pics
I am on cloud 9 right now. It seems that all the hard work has paid off. These last 5 weeks I have up'd my calories and tried 4&2 on work days (3-4 days/week) where I am exercising a bit. Sitting on an exercise ball for 3 hours (did you know you burn approx 100 calories/hr doing that???), using a twist platform, 5lb kettle bells exercises for 10 minutes... nothing too strenuous but seems it was enough that I needed the extra protein and calories.
My gift from my husband for reaching goal was the resetting of my wedding rings in platinum in my new ring size. I have been without them for a year now and it is so nice to have them back. He took today off as my son is home as well, and we are going to do some shopping for me and go out to lunch. Such a happy day.
One year ago, I never thought this would be possible. Today, I not only know it was, but know I have the tools to maintain this healthy weight and THAT is priceless.
Off to happy dance some more!
